Jiggery-pokery! £2,000 dresses, lashings of fake tan, parents who sacrifice everything for fame-hungry children… Enter the surreal world of Irish dancing. Loretta Mauriello paid £1 for the first Irish dance class her daughter attended. The modest price, she explains, was part of the attraction. She was working as a market trader and couldn’t afford much more. The irony isn’t lost on her. Fast forward 15 years and she practically puts her fingers in her ears when you ask her to quantify what she has spent on her only child’s ‘hobby’, now that her daughter Simona is 21, and still dancing. ‘Oh, don’t go there,’ she shrieks. ‘I’ve never worked it all out. I’m afraid to. But yes, we’re talking thousands and thousands. She first traveled to America for a competition when she was seven, and we’ve been all over the world. Every penny – flights, hotels – has been paid for by me.

Here’s a list of pets for all those people who are thinking about getting a new one, but they want it to be exotic and completely different from their former pets and some animal specie that none of their friends has ever had. You might have noticed that there is word “expensive” as well in the title. This is probably on of the main reasons why nobody has these animals as pets. But for the most persistent ones there are even prices listed for each of these unusual pets.

Kopi Luwak is really expensive and among the most luxurious coffees that exist. And the reason why this sort of coffee is so special is it’s method of preparing. Kopi luwak, or civet coffee, is coffee made from the beans of coffee berries which have been eaten by the Asian Palm Civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) and other related civets, then passed through its digestive tract.

Here goes the list of world’s most expensive spirits and liquors. It’s really crazy that anyone would pay so much money just for one single bottle of drink. Anyway, here you can at least have a look at this list if you can’t posses any of this luxury vintage pieces. Enjoy!
8. Highland Park 40-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whiskey
2007 Distiller of the Year Highland Park has introduced a permanent flagship 40 year old single malt Scotch whiskey expression it refers to as a “harmonious masterpiece.” Having personally sampled this liquid luxury, I concur. Aged primarily in previously-filled sherry oak casks and with a rich, coppery amber hue, Highland Park 40 Year Old offers a spicy and aromatic bouquet of dark fruits, nutmeg and dark chocolate, with palate notes of toffee and sun dried orange zest. At $2,000 per bottle, Highland Park 40 Year Old is among the world’s most luxe libations indeed.

This is a list of the highest known prices paid for paintings. Since that time sales of the most valuable paintings have usually been made at auctions, though that had by no means always been the case before, and the list below still shows some “private sales”, including the three most expensive. The current record price was paid for a work from No. 5, 1948 by Jackson Pollock sold at US$140 million in 2006, (approx. $150.6 million in CPI-adjusted 2010 US dollars)
