The most fascinating thing, if you ask me, is the fact that he is a smoker and he probably has been all of his life and still, despite that he managed to live to such an old age. At first when you hear something like that, you think – wow, good for him, that would really be great if I could reach at least 90, but then, on the other hand, I’m not really sure if I would be happy living in a world which all of my childhood friends have left long ago, and in a world that changes so rapidly i can’t understand it.

This is Adriana Iliescu, world’s oldest mom! This Romanian woman gave birth to a little girl (Eliza) when she was 66 years old. She is now 72 years old, and little Eliza is only six. There is no explanation for this medical phenomenon. It is a bit sad when you think about it, because it is most likely Adriana won’t live to see Eliza finishing her school or high school, and most certainly not her going to college.

It’s really crazy idea. I don’t know who would by this sort of postcards in the first place and then send them to his friends. What would the card be saying: “Dear friend, have a nice holiday, but remember all your sins!” or “Congratulations on your new promotion and remember how you got there!”? Anyhow, the cards are really creative and original, I have to give them that! Well, here you can find the best and most interesting of these photos. It is really a great idea and this inspired me to try and do this with some of mine old photos. If I do that I’ll add them to this post. It would be for the best if I could gather some of my old friends from childhood, because I haven’t seen them for a long time and this little project would be a great excuse for meeting again.

I was wondering how come old stuff is so pricey and has such a great value, and I realized it’s connected to our inevitable tendency to idealize the past and look at it with nostalgia. This is why we see things that aren’t really there, but that we think and wish there were. Nevertheless, I still love looking at this kind of old photos because it triggers my imagination and opens the door of my fantasies.
